Behind the façade - new collection
Behind the façade is a collection of paintings of old doorways, cupboard doors, staircases and buildings. We will often walk past these structures with no knowledge of what lies beyond or within the space. These surfaces can conceal unseen treasures and extraordinary, unknown stories of people’s lives. The layered paint and distressed quality creates a narrative of age, wear and tear, and a richness of experience, all of which suggests that there’s more than meets the eye behind the façade.
Coastal Erosion- At the Cliff Edge
At the Cliff Edge is my collection of paintings exploring erosion of the cliffs and landslides at Happisburgh and Overstrand in Norfolk. The paintings are inspired by the fragile beauty of the landscape and the wonderful shapes, textures and colours of the eroding cliffs. They are my personal tribute to all those working to protect and support the people in these coastal villages.
